October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an entire month dedicated to raising awareness of the disease, and showing support for those that have been afflicted by breast cancer.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Although both women and men can have breast cancer, women are at higher risk. Women with a family history of breast cancer, or those who are older or obese, are also more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Annual Benefits Enrollment will take place October 30 to November 10. It’s your annual opportunity to review your benefit options and choose your coverage for next year.
BMC will offer the same medical, dental, and vision options for 2018. Medical and dental deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums will also stay the same.
Paycheck costs for the PPO and HMO medical plan options will increase slightly. Other changes for 2018 include a new Dental Plan administrator, lower paycheck costs for dental coverage, an enhancement to the prescription drug program and two, new optional benefits – Backup Care and Identify Theft Protection.

The IRS has relaxed rules for obtaining a loan or hardship withdrawal from 401(k) plans for victims of hurricanes Irma and Harvey and their families. This change will make it easier to request and receive 401(k) money for employees whose principal residence or place of employment was located in one of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designated disaster areas—Harvey or Irma. Eligible employees have until January 31, 2018, to request a hardship withdrawal for reasons related to the September hurricanes.
Please note: You should consult your financial/tax adviser with specific questions about your personal situation if you are considering a withdrawal from your 401(k) account.
To initiate a hardship withdrawal, log on to the 401(k) site and click on the Withdraw/Borrow tab, or call Fidelity at 1-866-546-4424.
