New Benefit Year Reminders
- BMC Contributions to Health Savings Accounts: BMC deposited 50% of the 2016 company contribution to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) in January. Remember, if you didn’t reach the HSA contribution limit for 2015 ($3,350 for single coverage, $6,650 for family coverage and an additional $1,000 if you are 55 or older), you can make a tax-deductible contribution directly to your HSA at UMB Bank before the federal income tax filing deadline on April 15, 2016. To manage your HSA on the go, download the free Your Spending Account Reimburse Me app from Google Play or the iTunes store.
- New Paycheck Deductions: You paycheck deductions for benefits may have changed with the new benefits year. It’s a good idea to compare your first few paystubs of 2016 against your benefits confirmation statement mailed to you in December. You can also check 2016 pay-period costs for medical, dental and vision here. Please report any issues with benefit deductions to Your Benefits Resources at 1-877-262-4849.
- Form 1095: Watch your home mail for the new Form 1095, a new tax form that confirms you and your covered dependents were offered or enrolled in BMC medical coverage in 2015. Watch a short video about Form 1095.
- Tuition Reimbursement: If you are planning to take college course in the new year and use the BMC Tuition Reimbursement benefit, you’ll need to fill out some paperwork first. Take a few minutes to review the benefit application and pre-approval process.
