Time Left to Pay Less for Medical Coverage Next Year

If you took action and completed the Well Being Assessment™ (WBA) and biometric screening, congratulations! You've earned a $300 discount on the cost of medical premiums in 2014. You've also learned where you stand with your health.

Why stop now? There’s still time to earn another $300 discount. Here’s how:

  • Your covered spouse or domestic partner orders a physician form or home access kit by July 1 and by July 31 mails his or her biometric screening results and completes the WBA online at mybmcwellness.com.
  • You completed the WBA by June 1, 2013, and by July 31 you complete four online surveys at mybmcwellness.com OR you complete two telephone coaching sessions.

Hired after May 1, 2013? Complete the WBA by October 31, 2013 and earn a $300 discount on the cost of medical coverage in 2014.

How to Submit Fitness Expenses to YSA

To encourage you to keep fit and stay healthy, the BMC Fitness Reimbursement Program provides $225 per calendar year to help pay for fitness activities outside your home.

The rules are simple. You must be an active BMC employee when you incur the fitness expense and on the date BMC receives your request for reimbursement. You can request reimbursement of your expenses once per calendar year to Your Spending Account (YSA), the program administrator. Requests must be filed by March 31 of the following year.

How to submit your claim for reimbursement:

  1. Log on to YBR (identification and password required) and from the main menu click on Your Spending Account (YSA).
  2. From the YSA Summary Page, select Manage Your Account, which takes you to the YSA home page.
  3. Click on the Other Accounts tab. From the drop-down menu select Fitness, and then select Request Fitness Reimbursement.

For detailed information, read this How to Request Reimbursement for Fitness Expenses step-by-step guide.

Houston and Austin Employees: When requesting reimbursement for onsite gym membership fees to YSA, you must submit a copy of your last pay stub of the year showing your year-to-date contributions.

Smart Savings at Work: Don't Miss the Match!

Mid-year is a good time to review your pay stubs carefully and make sure your 401(k) account contributions won't exceed the annual IRS contribution or compensation limits. If you received a bonus payment in May, you may need to adjust your 401(k) contribution percentage.

For 2013, the annual IRS 401(k) contribution limits are $17,500 ($23,000 if you are age 50 or older), and the annual compensation limit is $255,000. Your participation in the BMC 401(k) Plan for 2013 will stop at the first limit you reach. To learn more, watch this video about the BMC 401(k) Plan and use the BMC Retirement Savings Calculator. The calculator can help you figure out how much to contribute each pay period to make sure you don't exceed the limits and miss out on any of the BMC matching contributions. You'll find the calculator under “Employer News” on the right side of the home page on the Fidelity Netbenefits® website.

How 401(k) Contributions Work
For every dollar you save in your 401(k) on a before-tax or Roth basis, BMC will contribute another dollar...up to the first 5% of your eligible pay (includes base pay, bonuses and sales commissions). BMC matching contributions are made each pay period with your payroll contributions.

Track Your Savings with New NetBenefits® App

The new NetBenefits® Smartphone application (app) makes it easy and convenient to check your BMC 401(k) account on your mobile phone.

The app allows you to see how your 401(k) is performing. To make changes to your 401(k) investments on the spot, you tap the screen to call the toll-free number and reach a Fidelity representative.
