September is National Cholesterol Education Month, a good time to get your blood cholesterol checked and take steps to lower it if it is high. Children, young adults, and older Americans can have high cholesterol.

High cholesterol typically has no signs or symptoms but can lead to heart attack and stroke. That’s why it’s important to have your cholesterol checked by your health care team. All it takes is a simple blood test. Learn more from the National Institutes of Health
