*Per paycheck contributions are 24 times per year. You will pay less per pay period if you earned a medical premium discount by participating in the 2020-2021 bWell program.

You will pay between $100 and $600 less for medical coverage in 2022 if you earned bWell rewards by August 31, 2021, and chose medical premium discounts. The Enroll in Your Benefits page on MyBMC Rewards will show the discounts you have earned.

Kaiser HMO Plan Changes for 2022

    • Copays for doctor office visits will increase to $25
    • A $500 copay will apply to each inpatient admission
    • A $100 copay will apply to each outpatient procedure
    • You will pay 30% coinsurance when filling a specialty prescription drug (up to a maximum of $250)

Changes to Monthly Paycheck Costs for Dental and Vision Coverage

    • Monthly paycheck costs for Dental Plan coverage will increase between $.62 and $2, depending on who you cover. This increase will be shared equally with employees and the company. See the 2022 rates here.
    • Monthly paycheck costs for Vision Plan coverage will decrease slightly

New Medical ID Card (BCBSTX medical plans)

Everyone who enrolls in a BCBSTX medical plan for 2022 will receive a new medical ID card from BCBSTX. You can expect to receive your ID card by early January.

    Expanding Digital Health Tools

The BCBSTX medical plans include several digital resources to help you better manage a health issue. You can participate in these programs at no cost to you. Services include coaching and, in some cases, may use internet-connected biometric devices and wearable sensors to help you and your family achieve health improvement goals.

For 2022, we’re adding two new digital health resources:

    • Hinge Health for help with chronic back, knee, hip, neck, or shoulder pain
    • Livongo for blood pressure management

As a reminder, you currently have access to these digital health options:

    • Diabetes Prevention and Weight Loss – Omada®
    • Get Ready for Baby – Ovia ®
    • Weight Management and Metabolic Syndrome Reversal – Wondr (formerly Naturally Slim)
Which myth is keeping you stuck in the PPO? If you think you aren't healthy enough to switch to the HSA plan or it's too hard to use, come see whether we can smash the myths.
  2. Save More in Your HSA

The IRS has increased contribution limits for Health Savings Accounts. For 2022, you’ll be allowed to contribute $3,650 for individual coverage (up from $3,600) or $7,300 for family coverage (up from $7,200). The catch-up contribution limit for those who are 55 or better remains $1,000.

BMC matches your contributions (dollar-for-dollar) Up to $350 Up to $1,100 Up to $500 Up to $1,000
BMC will match your HSA contributions each pay period in 2022
Your contribution limit Up to $2,900 Up to $5,800 Up to $3,150 Up to $6,300
    Total 2022 contribution allowed by the IRS (yours and BMC’s) $3,650 $7,300 $3,650 $7,300
If you are age 55 or better at any time during 2022, you can contribute an additional $1,000 to your HSA.

The BMC Health Savings Account (HSA) is only available to employees enrolled in the BCBSTX HSA medical plan option. The HSA helps you pay for the cost of care for you and your eligible tax dependents not paid by insurance.

  3. Health Care Just Got Easier

New for employees and their families enrolled in a BCBSTX medical plan

BMC continues our ongoing efforts to make it easy to use your benefits and provide better care options for the best possible cost. For 2022, we’re introducing two new services: MyEvive Health Hub and Health Advocacy Solutions (HAS). These new services will replace Healthcare Bluebook and Health Pros through Alight.

In 2022, finding your way around your health care benefits will become easier with Health Advocacy Solutions (HAS). You and your eligible family members can connect with a dedicated Health Advocate for help with health and benefits questions, big or small. Your Health Advocate takes the stress out of using your benefits by:

    Picture1

Helping you find in-network doctors and providers

    Picture2

Identifying ways to help you save money on health care expenses

    Picture3

Answering questions and resolving issues with your health care bills

Later this year, you’ll learn more about how a Health Advocate can help make health care easier for you and your family.

Next year, Health Advocacy Solutions (HAS) will be the phone number on the back of your medical ID card. You’ll be able to connect to your personal Health Advocate by phone, online, or through the MyEvive app.

If You’re Currently Working with a Health Pro

You can continue to work with your Health Pro during the benefits enrollment period and throughout the remainder of 2021. If you enroll in a BCBSTX medical plan for 2022, you’ll have access to a Healthcare Advocate starting January 1, 2022.

MyEvive Health Hub Available January 1, 2022

Beginning January 1, 2022, you will have access to your BMC benefits and resources all in one place through the MyEvive app.

MyEvive will give you access to your BMC benefits and resources all in one place. It will cut down on the need to remember usernames and passwords. After you register online or on the MyEvive app, you’ll receive personalized reminders about what’s most useful for you. Reminders could be to take action on your health, finances, and other benefits. It’s all about getting you to the benefits you value with the least amount of effort.

Later this year, you’ll learn how the MyEvive Health Hub can help simplify and personalize your benefits experience. Watch a video introduction to MyEvive.

  4. Review Your Beneficiaries

Beneficiary changes are often overlooked following divorce, remarriage, or after the death of a loved one who may be listed as one of your beneficiaries. Having accurate beneficiary information means your assets will be distributed according to your wishes. We encourage you to take a few minutes during Annual Enrollment to confirm your beneficiary designations.

To review, add or change your Life or AD&D beneficiary, go to MyBMC Rewards. To change your 401(k) beneficiary, access your account at netbenefits.com. Finally, change your Health Savings Account beneficiary at the UMB HSA website.

  5. Do I Need to Enroll?

Not sure if you need to enroll? Use this checklist for help. If you check ANY of these boxes, you need to enroll.

    I want to:
    • Opt out of BMC’s medical plans.
    • Contribute to a Health Savings Account (with BCBSTX HSA medical plan only).
    • Change my medical, dental, or vision plan(s).
    • Participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). To participate in an FSA, you must enroll each year. This includes:
      • Health Care FSA
      • Dependent Care FSA
      • Limited Purpose FSA (with the BCBSTX HSA medical plan only)
    • Add or remove a dependent. Please note: You are required to verify any dependent you are adding to the medical plan with supporting documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.), or your dependent(s) will not be covered.
    • Increase or decrease coverage. For example, an increase from Employee + Spouse coverage to Family coverage.
    • Add, remove, increase, or decrease Supplemental Life Insurance coverage.
    • Add, remove, increase, or decrease Supplemental AD&D coverage.
    • Add or remove Supplemental Long-Term Disability coverage.
    • Add or remove the Group Prepaid Legal coverage.
    • Add or remove the Identity Theft coverage.
  6. If You Don’t Enroll by November 12

Even if you are happy with your current coverage, we encourage you to review your enrollment elections each year.

If you don’t take action during Annual Enrollment, your 2022 BMC benefit coverage will continue with higher paycheck contributions for medical and dental coverage. Remember, you must enroll if you want to change your coverage, add or remove dependents, or contribute to a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account.

  7. How to Enroll

Complete these steps between November 1 through November 12 to get the coverage that’s right for you and your family.

    • The easiest way to access your benefits and enroll is through MyBMC Rewards. Log on to MyBMCRewards.com and click on the Annual Enrollment tile on the main page.
    • Once you’re on the MyBMC Rewards website, you’ll be guided through simple steps that will help you make the right decisions for you. Use online tools, like the Medical Plan Comparison tool, to help you understand your medical plan options.
    • Review the name, date of birth, and Social Security Number of any dependent(s) you may cover.
    • Review any life insurance beneficiary or beneficiaries you have listed.
    • Review your benefits decisions and paycheck contributions to be sure they reflect your choices.
    • Click the Complete Enrollment button to submit your benefit elections. Save a copy of your Confirmation of Enrollment after you complete your enrollment. If MyBMC Rewards has your valid email address on file (under Your Profile), you'll receive an email confirmation of your elections.
    • After Annual Enrollment, you’ll receive a confirmation statement in the mail. Check it carefully!
    • If you find any mistakes, call Your Benefits Resources at 877-262-4849 immediately to correct any errors before December 28, 2021, you won’t be able to change your elections for 2021 unless you have a qualifying event, like marriage, a new baby, or divorce.

If you leave the enrollment website before submitting all of your elections, your benefit choices will not be saved. Look for the “Your Enrollment is Confirmed” page with a confirmation number for your transaction to signal that your enrollment is complete. Print this page for your records.

If You Are Adding a New Dependent

You must verify your dependent’s eligibility for benefits when you add a new dependent to your BMC medical coverage for 2022. Your Benefits Resources will send you a verification request notice and package to your home address. Follow the instructions in the package and respond with the necessary documentation by the deadline. Complete and return the requested documents by the deadline provided, or your dependents will be ineligible for coverage and removed from BMC benefits.

    Need assistance?

If you need enrollment assistance, call Your Benefits Resources at 877-262-4849, between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., EST.
